|State:||The Dokht Imperium|
Biography[edit | edit source]
The Prime conceals many secrets. Its properties are amazing, but its effects are unpredictable and often deadly. The Keepers believe that the substance is somehow magical, but the Dokhts, accustomed to only believing hard facts, are constantly trying to get at the truth behind the nature of the Prime.
The Soul Reaper was once the captain of an elite unit that provided security for the Imperium's secret investigations. The detachment had never lost a single man; the commander's vast experience saved his men many times. But even a professional cannot be certain of the outcome when dealing with something as unpredictable as the Prime.
The team was sent to investigate an unusual anomaly in the heart of the Primezone. The soldiers had cordoned the area off, and the scientists had begun to set up their equipment, when the commander sensed danger, raised the alarm, and began to evacuate the surprised scientific staff from the danger zone. But all of his efforts were in vain. The most powerful explosion any of them had ever seen tore through the team, and all of them disappeared in a violent gush of Prime.
The captain regained consciousness during the night, a lone commander without an army. The pain of loss that the hero felt was unbearably intense. All of his comrades had perished in the deadly explosion. Only a piece of copper remained: the soldiers' medallions, melted into a single shapeless bar. In memory of the dead, the captain made the copper bar his Catalyst and used the Prime to burn a cross on his chest.
The scientists were amazed at the new hero's incredible abilities, but he does not feel himself to be unique. The Reaper is tormented by guilt for the deaths of his friends. By subjugating the ghosts of slain enemies in battle, he attempts to use them to communicate with the spirits of his comrades. The Reaper dreams of one day hearing the rustle of their voices and gaining his chance to apologize to them.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- His Koschei Skin could be a reference to the Slavic folklore Koschei, who is an archetypal male antagonist, described mainly as abducting the hero's wife and has been most frequently represented as a very old and ugly-looking man.
